Q. Do I have to pay a fee for JSW’s sourcing service?

A. No. At JSW we conduct our sourcing service completely free of charge. In fact, absolutely no money will be payable until the point at which we agree the actual sale of the car – and that only happens when you’re perfectly happy in all respects with what is being offered to you.

Q. How soon will I hear back from JSW after my initial enquiry?

A. We pride ourselves on our speed of service and will often get back to you within a matter of hours – having found your perfect car. Of course some of the more exclusive performance cars can take a little longer to locate, but we’ll let you know what timelines you can expect when you first call us. And we’ll keep you informed at all times as to the progress of your search.

Q. Does JSW sell cars from a forecourt or showroom?

A. No, JSW’s business is exclusively involved in sourcing and locating the right car for the right client. Our policy of not owning and selling a stock of cars ensures that you get the car you want – and not the car we want to sell you. This policy also allows us to offer totally objective advice on all aspects of your choice of car – if that’s something you’d like us to provide you with.

Q. Is there any obligation to buy once a suitable car has been sourced?

A. We would ask that you are serious about buying when you use our services, as we do have to put a good deal of time and effort into sourcing the perfect car for you and ensuring the utmost in quality standards. But you are totally free to change your mind – and totally free to pull out of the process – at any time prior to the actual sale of the vehicle.

Q. What quality criteria does JSW apply when inspecting the cars on behalf of clients?

A. Our quality criteria are incredibly stringent. We only accept cars that are in ‘showroom’ condition for our clients – we know that nothing less than the best will be acceptable. The slightest hint of a scratch or stone-chip on the paintwork, the slightest scrape of a curb on a wheel will be more than enough for us to say ‘no’ and continue our search. We simply can’t emphasize this enough: the quality standards to which we operate are unparalleled in the motor industry. Remember, each car sourced is personally inspected, tested and driven by John Walsh, founder of JSW, and it is only when John is delighted with all aspects of the car that we are happy to proceed with the sale.

Q. Will my car be priced in Sterling or Euros?

A. As we are based in London we price our cars in Sterling. We are of course able to advise customers as to the exchange rate of the time and how the Sterling price translates into Euros. However, we do not currently accept payment in Euros.

Q. How will my car be delivered?

A. We will deliver your car anywhere in Ireland at a time that suits you. Normally we will drive it to your door and personally hand over the keys, so that you can get down to the important business of taking it for a drive. For some of the more exclusive and prestige models, delivery by lorry is preferred by our clients, and that’s no problem. However you want to arrange delivery is absolutely fine with us.

Q. Will JSW accept a part-exchange?

A. While we can’t literally take your vehicle as part-exchange against the car we source for you, we will certainly help you sell it privately by placing ads for your car in the most effective car sales publications and, if you so desire, by putting you in touch with trusted contacts in the motor trade in order to arrange a sale.

Q. Will VRT be included in the price of the car?

A. The price quoted for the car will not include VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax). However, calculating VRT on most models is very easy and can be done online. Simply click here and follow the on-screen instructions to calculate the VRT on your choice of car. You can find more information on VRT by visiting www.drivinginfo.ie

Q. How do I register the car for use in Ireland?

A. You should bring your car to a Vehicle Registration Office no later than the next working day following its arrival in Ireland. After your vehicle has been inspected at the Vehicle Registration Office you will be asked to pay the required VRT. You will then receive:
• A receipt for the VRT showing you the registration number assigned to your car
• A Form RF 100 for use when you are applying for your motor tax

That’s all there is to it.
